Carmel Nivas, Kareli

Carmel Nivas, Kareli, had its humble beginning in 1999. Situated by the side of National Highway 26, in the sugar bowl of MP, and to add sweetness to the life of people around, a school was started by the Provincial Department of Education. The strenuous efforts of the Fathers, Paul Nereparambil and Raphel Parambeth, in collaboration with the OSF Sisters of Dillingen, from Bilaspur, were instrumental in realizing the dream of a primary school in 2001. The present school building was inaugurated and blessed in 2005. At present the service is extended to more than 2000 families through Carmel School, Carmel Parish and various pastoral activities. The school was upgraded to Senior Secondary level to serve more people in the fertile farm land of Narmada River basin.
