St. Chavara Mission, Aron

St. Chavara Centre, Aron in Guna district is the new mission entrusted to the CMI Bhopal Province by Rt. Rev. Dr. Anthony Chirayath, the then Bishop of Sagar. As a preparation to open the new mission at Aron, a team of Fathers, Sisters and Laity from Guna went to visit the catholic families of Aron Tehsil. They visited the 11 families and discussed the possibilities of starting the pastoral activities there, such as the liturgical ceremonies and pastoral care as early as possible.

In view of the heightened expectations about the Chavara Mission from the Province as well as from the Diocese, the Chavara Mission Centre, Aron, was inaugurated on December 20, 2014, with the Christmas Mass. It was on February 1, 2015 as per the desire of the then Bishop Anthony Chirayath, the Chavara Mission Centre was officially blessed. For the further development, a small plot of land was purchased in the name of the Superior Christ Home, Guna for the purpose of Chavara Mission Centre, Aron on June 5, 2015.
