CMI House, Tuting

The Holy Rosary Church at Tuting was established in 1993. There are 8 Catholic villages under this Parish. It was on Saturday November 5, 2016 we reached Tuting, Arunachal Pradesh, with Rev. Fr. Joseph Chakkalakal MSFS (Parish Priest of Yingkong), Fr. Abish Perumbully, Fr. Cejo Chakkery and Fr. Nijo Palatty. On November 6, 2016 was a golden day in the annals of St. Paul Province, Bhopal as we formally began this new mission in the Diocese of Itanagar, (Arunachal Pradesh). It was on March 15, 2017 that we had the formal inauguration of the CMI Arunachal Mission and the declaration of the Holy Rosary Church as a Parish at Tuting by Rt. Rev. Dr. John Thomas Kattrukudiyil in the presence of Rev. Fr. Paul Achandy, the Prior General and Rev. Fr. Kurian Kachappilly, the Provincial. This new mission has been entrusted to the CMI St. Paul Province, Bhopal. Our priests Fr. Cejo Chakkery and Fr. Nijo Palatty had started staying in Tuting since November 5, 2016. This is the first Parish entrusted to the care of CMI Congregation in the entire North Eastern States of India. The Catholic Mission-Tuting has more than 600 Catholics. As per the Census records, there are 160 families under the parish territory. The families are not floating people but they are of the land. The newly built Church was inaugurated and blessed by . Rev. Dr. John Thomas Kattrukudiyil, the Bishop of Itanagar in the presence of Rev. Fr. Justin Akkara, the Provincial on February 10, 2021.
